Sound of glass breaking/sound of breaking glass?
Suddenly, the sound of glass breaking and then the fire alarm went off very loudly.
Please tell me if it should be - glass breaking - or - breaking glass?
Also, is shattering better than breaking? (It's a case into a fire alarm which is broken)
