You can pick up a lot of stations on the car radio but the sound is usually a bit fuzzy.

I can understand the sentence as, "You can choose a lot of stations on the car radio but the sound is usually unclear because of the car's noises".

Am I right?

In the dictionary, it says, "station" = a company which sends out radio or television broadcasts.
