Sorted vs organized

Are these questions and sentences correct?

How are these drawers sorted/organized? I see piles of both tops and pants.
How do you sort/organize your drawers?

I organize/sort my drawers by top and pants. The pants go in the upper drawer and tops in the lower one.

thanks

In my US dialect, you don't sort the drawers, you sort the clothes. You organize your drawers by sorting the tops and pants.
