Sorry, i really need an urgent advice on the difference between yet and but, thx soooooo much! =D

Could anyone explain the difference between 'yet' and 'but'? When to do them?

Hi, those are really basic particles, and are extremely important. I suggest you read about them in a grammar book and in a dictionary for learners. There are several explanations on the net if you don't want to get a grammar book, and the most important dictionaries for learners are available online for free.

  • com/dictionary/yet_2 In my opinion, for that meaning, there's not much difference, except "but" is much more used in informal contexts, I think, and it's more general.
  • To me, "yet" sounds like "nevertheless" or "despite what I just said"...
