Sorry for/about

Hi,

I'm sorry about/for getting you out of the room.
I'm sorry about/for my English.

Does all of them sound OK?

Top answer

johner Does all of them sound OK? Vaguely, yes. I suggest that 'about' is clearer.

So you're saying that when some foreigner thinks his English is not sufficient, he better say "Sorry about my English" than say "Sorry for my English". Is that it?

Well, I've been saying "Sorry for my English" for all these years. And It looks like, with a small edition, I'll be saying it over and over for the next hundred years . Poor foreigners!

Thanks a lot.

Maybe I should just say: Sorry for not being able to say sorry. They'll understand how pathetic it is.
