I have question regarding sorry about vs. sorry for. For example: people are discussing their marriage lives. One woman for instance says her husband is bad in all the terms (sexual, etc.). Another woman answers: I am sorry about your husband (= that is, she agrees that the husband is bad and she feels sorry for the woman).
The opposite dialog: a wife is being critisized, and the women discussing their marriage lives feel sorry for the husband. They say: we are sorry for your husband (=that is, they think the husband is unlucky with his wife)
Are these sentences correct?
Thank you.
