so-FEE-ya is how I pronounce it and generally hear it pronounced. (the "FEE" is capitalized to show which syllable gets the emphasis)

Last year, I asked an English history teacher about the pronunciation "Sophia". The Sophia in question was the mother of King George I.
He said that "Sophia" is pronounced /s&(u)'fai&/.
"Sofia", on the other hand, is pronounced /'s&ufi&/ or even /s&(u)'fi:&/.

I later looked up both name in a pronouncing dictionary and confirmed those answers.

If you are talking about the little mark above the 'i' in your name that is there instead of the English dot, then yes, it is called an accent.

We pronounce it So-fY-a.

Most people I meet pronounce it So-fear, but I was christened Sophia and have always pronounced it So-fire or So-fy-ah.
