SOP Msc Finance Review
Dear all,
I was wondering if you could help me with my Statement of Purpose. Any input will be appreciated. Hope to hear from any of you soon.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to submit my name and credentials for consideration for the Master of Science in Finance program in CLBS.
I aspire to become a financial professional with in-depth knowledge of the fields and to pursue a high-level career in the global financial industry. Thus, I am seeking to improve my financial knowledge and skills while developing my problem-solving competencies and critical thinking.
CLBS might help me with this goal due to its program that combines a practical approach with theoretical knowledge sharing. Having professors from different nationalities and backgrounds allows the students to engage in a multicultural exchange of ideas which is exactly what I am looking for. Moreover, the fact that such professors have been in close contact with the corporate world will allow me to expand my point of view regarding multiple topics. I found the ones related to Risk Management, Firm Valuation and Mergers and Acquisitions particularly appealing. On those, there is no such thing as a universal answer. Every case is unique and must be treated individually as if an investigation was taking place and we were lurking for clues to figure out the best way to solve it, offering to the person that is in charge the opportunity to challenge his own intellectual capacities. Furthermore, the fact that behind every financial professional decision lays the power to influence someone’s day-to-day life fascinates me.
The choice for CLBS was not random. This school and I share more than just love for social sciences. We both share common values of constant self-improvement. I’m extremely committed to intellectual rigor. Consequently, I always look up for ways to do more and better, ruling myself by excellence criteria, just as this college does. Therefore, becoming a CLBS's student will feel just right.
Nonetheless, I should not be selected as a student for this Masters just for all the reasons above, but also because I am deeply committed to my work. As CLBS aims to be among the best, so do I. In order to do so, I learned how to manage my time, which, as a result, allowed me to focus not only on my degree but also in ethical questions as helping those in need by working as a volunteer. Later on, I have used the same skill to carry on my studies while working as a Financial Controller which even sparked my passion for this field of studies even more.
Striving for nothing but greatness and excellence is what I aim for and, in pursuance of that, I hope that I can have the chance to study in such an illustrious institution such as CLBS.
