Try re-booting it and then use the master reset. This is because your friend would have padlocked his settings regarding the colour screen and then go on the desktop, right click, properties and click on appearances and then adjust accordingly. The first thing I did when I got it was to format the drive, so all the Sony software and drivers are gone forever. As for operating the thing, well, that's my four year old daughter's job. She loves it, even though the available colour modes won't allow her favourite program, P'Shop CS, to run. Nevertheless it does play her favourite CD's, and MS Pain
