Song grammar

In the song, "I Shall Survive," there is the line, "Oh, no, not I." In ordinary, day-to-day conversation, I would usually say, "Not me," or even, "I'm not the one" instead of, "Not I." Anyway, grammatically speaking, shouldn't the line read, "Oh, no, not me" ?

On second thought, although I would never say, "It is I," it is GRAMMATICALLY correct, so I guess "It is not I" would also be correct, so I guess the song is right, GRAMMATICALLY speaking that is. And to think of how long I have wondered about this.
