Son and Sun, The same pronunciation?

Well I found on www.m-w.com

I heard the pronunciation and is almost the same, I don´t know what´s the difference between "Son" and "Sun"

Well, it depends on one's dialect. I am from Bucks County, PA, outside of Philadelphia, and have discovered in recent years that I use some archaic pronunciation. I tend to say "son" for sun, but "SON-ne" for the male child. The "ne" is slight, but can be heard if you listen carefully. I noticed that the spelling of "son" in the 1650s was "sonne." People from my area are also rhotic and prono
