Somewhat vs. somehow

That is somewhat difficult.
That is somehow difficult.

1. What is the difference between the sentences above?
2. If no difference, can they be used interchangeably?
3. If there is difference, can the synonym "rather" substitute both words?

Please advise. Thank you.
