Sometimes we have a heightened sense of things.

Hi

Are these lines natural, especially the underlined parts? Any suggestions are welcome.

(Daughter is unhappy about a fight with her friend; father is trying to console her.)

The fight is petty and not worth paying much attention to, Tania. Sometimes we have a heightened sense of things – I mean, even small and unimportant incidents of the day loom large unnecessarily and bother us for some time.

Thanks,

Tom

  • Sometimes we make a mountain out of a molehill - I mean there's no reason to argue over such trifles.
