something/anything

Hi;

I am wondering if "something" can be interchangeable with "anything"?
What about this sentence?

"I don't want you to do something stupid."

Can you please advise?

Thank you

"anything stupid" covers all stupid things.

I think "something stupid" is more selective and suggests a thing that's of significance and/or weight, i.e. not all stupid things count there.

So, am I right in thinking that "something stupid" refers to more significant things?

In this sentence I think you could use either one without changing the meaning at all.
