Something touristy

Does this make sense? Is it natural to say "but not something touristy" and "not in a touristy way"

What do you think it means to say "not something touristy"

1 The client wants picture at Times Square but not something touristy.

A photographer says this to a client.

2 Do you want to take photos at Times Square but not in a touristy way.

Thank you
