I'm not sure if the "the" goes in here or if not.
a. The lower the human mind goes, the more the pain and agony will become prominent.

That part has been explained in a previous section of my project. It is related to going from a civilized common-human behavior to a more animalistic and survival-based behavior. But that's not what I'm trying to understand in here. My doubts are on the part after the comma, mainly concerning the use of "the" or not, as seen in the OP.
