Something

"Is there nothing it can't do."
Was something I heard in the video when he was talking a certain controller.
He answered: "Yes, lots"

But isn't can not do nothing positive and it means can do something?
So with the answer no it would mean that it can do in fact do nothing but with yes you are saying it can not do nothing so it does something.
Since he answered " Yes, lots" he is saying it can a lot of something but when placed in the context he meant it can do many things not=alot of nothing.

Is this mistake often used in English or was it just in this instance that caught my glimpse?

The video I was talking about with the timestamp:

Apologies if I made any grammar mistakes which would be kind of ironic as this is an English forum but I'm in kind of a rush and I just had to ask this.

Oh, then I just misinterpreted it.
As I thought he was making a joke about how a controller can not do everything like flying, washing your dishes etc.
Well... I feel stupid now.

No need for that; yours was a valid question.
