Somersault motion or somersaulting motion

Hello. Which of these two sentences is correct?


The somersault motion of the acrobat was very impressive

OR

The somersaulting motion of the acrobat was very impressive


An exact phrase search in google for both "somersault motion" or "somersaulting motion" returns lots of Google Books results. Are both of them correct, depending on the context?
