Someone singular or plural?

Hi, everyone.

I looked up a word in the dictionary and found that the pronoun(them) doesn't agree with it's antecedent(someone). Could you tell me why that is correct, because I have learnt in the grammar books that the indefinite pronoun (someone) is always singular.
