Essay & Composition Writing

Some young people look forward to a year of travelling, a ‘gap year’, before they begin work or university and see it as a chance to broaden their horizons. For others this is an expensive waste of time. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Almost students get away from their lessons in order to travel some places, study tertiary education, after graduating from high school or university. Some people argue that teenagers should save their time. I will attempt to outline some key reasons for this.

On the one hand, a gap year is simply an extendable, self-indulgent holiday so it is the best time so as to find out a good part-time or full-time job. Gapper could demonstrate their knowledge after leaving their school; As they would forget most knowledge if teens do not apply for work or further education, especially scholarships. Besides, there are many candidates have also graduated at the same time so young people should apply as soon as possible to compete with other ones. It gives them opportunities such as an interview between a job applicant and the director, after that they could practice or become a staff job. However, almost people will spend another 40 years or more doing exactly this so it becomes more and more problematic to take time off as we get older.

On the other hand, it is also necessary to relax, unwind or change of scenery before settling down on the first long term job. For instance, traveling to distance places so that teens could expand a person’s world view, do voluntary work or backpack and gain a huge amount from the experience which will help them find employment in their return.

In conclusion, although it is true that some people may spend a year on beach wasting time and money, this time is a great deal can be achieved in that time, students come back home having done charity learned a language in a different country.
