Essay & Composition Writing

Some students decide early in life to pursue vocational careers that involve cooking or baking. For them, it is better to study their choosen occupations in high school rather than regular subjects. Do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, many students are under the impression that studying compulsory subjects at school is a waste of time and would rather jump in pursuing their oriented jobs in high school. In my point of view, I do not subscribe to this idea.

Neglecting to enrich basic knowledge are to bring about undesirable consequences. If a person dives into a career without any preparation, he is apt to be confused by the information the instructors convey in every vocational lesson. Without having been trained to take in big volumes of instructions, there is a likelihood that the learn will find lectures and assignments incomprehensible. Thus, he can get nothing done properly. To cite an example, a student with poor reading skills may hardly make head or tail of a cooking receipt.

In contrast, having a profound foundation makes understanding teachers’ words less taxing. With a stable base, learners will not only find the learning progress less of a rocket science but also have chances to dig into advanced skills and techniques. Moreover, regular subjects help students with their thinking pattern and cognitive skills. Most subjects included in the teaching plan require pupils to rack their brains, as a result, these students can overcome problems they have never encountered before in vocational courses.

In conclusion, many students now prefer enrolling in vocational career to getting their feet wet with regular subjects. I think this is not a good idea to set off learning to work without any basic knowledge and preparations.
