Hello, Could you please have a look at these questions and say if they're correct ?.
To be : 1-Ted is to leave this year ( does it mean that it's probable or certainty ?) 2-You are not to sit up tonight.(does it mean that it's an obligation?) Can these sentences be replaced by: 1-Ted is maybe leaving this year. 2-You mustn't sit up tonight. I read in a grammar book that both these below sentences are correct,though I've never seen this kind of question in sentence 2. 1-Does your father have a car ?/ Do you have a cat ?. 2- Has your father a car ?/ Have you a cat ?. Do these sentences below mean the same ?Are they interchangeable ? 1- I had rather play than work. 2-I would rather play than work .
