Essay & Composition Writing

Some people think that we should divide students based on their academic ability, while others think we should educate all students together. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Each children was born with different level of intelligence. For this reason, there has been two schools of opinions with one being that students should be divided based on there academic performance and the other one being students should be educated altogether. In this passage, I am going to make discussion regarding the two points of view and voice my own perspective.
Students should be classified into classes that best suit their academic capability because this will bring them certain advantages. For example, if a student whose academic level is 5, on a scale of 10, and the student is forced to learn in the same class with a bunch of other students whose level is at 8, the student will be likely to fall behind his fellow students because they understand much faster and the teachers’ methods are too out of his scope, and produced undesirable results which may affect his academic progression down the line. A class full of students at the same level of intelligence along with the suitable ways of teaching will create a favorable environment for those students to study and improve themselves, and be transferred to a higher class when the time comes.

The fact that students should be put into one sole class regardless of their level intelligence creates certain challenges for some students, especially students with poor academic performance. However, that is not always the case. Students who do well in class will be held back because teachers have to spend their time explaining the problems to students who perform badly, and lower the level of difficulty of the exercises in some cases. However, that is not always the case. Since they are in the same classroom, excellent students can help inferior students to get better so that they can catch up with the rest. Teachers can also tailor their methods of teaching so as to help the those students with decent performance become even better but at the same time ameliorate students whose performance is not as good.

In my opinion, students’ being taught altogether is more preferrable. They have more chance to learn from students that are more intelligent than them, and they may have something that the good students can learn from. In addition, difference in level will create motivation for arduous attempts thus making school environment lively.

All in all, both ways of categorizing students have their distinctive advantages and disadvantages. The most important thing is that students are provided with all the knowledge necessary for them to move on to the next level of education.

Thank you very much for your feedback <3

It has been a very long time since I took my latest IELTS test, and my writing skill has gone a little bit rusty. Could you recommend any websites or give me any advice on how to improve it? Thank you very much for this, too./
