On the other hand, to reducing the crime rate, other alternatives are also needed. The fisrt method is the government should arrange for people to contact legal knowledge. These programs would help people to become consious of breaking the law and therefore could raise people’s awareness. Another good measure for government is to install more surveillance cameras and have more policemen patrolling the streets. This can prevent petty criminals like shoplifters and pickpockets because they cannot act if they are being watched. Last but not least, to assume responsibility for ex-prisoners will have a decent job when they are free is a great relapse prevention plan. Being able to support themselves and their family, they have no reason to turn back to crime.
