Some people think that technological progress has affected their lives. To what extent do agree or disagree with the statement?

It is irrefutable that, the advancement in technology always affects human live positively as well as negatively. In this essay, I shall look into both the side of this phenomenon.
Technological evolution has started in 18th century and in 19th century but the most significant technology revolution in 20th century has been made in the field of Information Technology. This progress has turned whole world in to a global village, where there is no more distance barriers for communication. With the advent of advance technology in computer and internet, communications become very easy and economical. However, technology when used by terrorist can cause havoc to life of humans. For instance, who has not heard about 26th November terrorist attack in Mumbai, India? All the planning done by terrorist was with the help of latest communication technology.
Furthermore, in the field of transport, we have superfast jet planes and bullet trains, which save lot of travelling time and cost. This has made ordinary person to think about international travel that he can also afford. Tourism has become the backbone of many economies of the world, but this has led to the environmental pollution and excessive consumption of fossil fuel which is non-renewable source of energy. It has rightly said that “Modern technology, owes ecology, an apology”. What is more, in the quest of unending source of energy, progress has been made in the field of nuclear technology, but the construction of power plant can cause threat to human life if the radiation leak occurred.
Technology evolution has not left any place untouched. Even in home, people have microwave oven, dish washer and washing machine etc. to make life simpler, but what is seen is that, people have lost their habit of hard work and becoming indolent which has caused many health issues like obesity. Automation has made possible mass production but unemployment has also risen.
Summing up, technological progress has both pros and cons and it is our onus to use it for good purpose otherwise it can become boomerang to humanity and ultimately destroy our planet.
