Teachers are an indispensable part of education in every nation all the time. There are some arguments that teachers should only teach their students how to behave morally and judge justifiably. In this essay, we will discuss why teaching students to achieve academic performance as well as appropriate behaviors and judgment is essential for their comprehensive development.

Having the ability to distinguish between rightness and wrongness is crucial for promoting students' cognition. When encountering obstacles in life, pupils, without elaborate consideration, are prone to act or behave according to their instinct, leading to dire repercussions such as losing trust or credibility or even affection from loved ones. It is understandable for students to learn and practice reacting when things come suddenly. This has proven the paramount importance of teachers in educating behavioural intentions in school systems. Once students are taught about ethical behaviours and unbiased judgment, they could have a tendency to take things into consideration prior to making decisions. Thus, a sense of justice will be promoted in the community.

Despite the merits of moral behaviours, academic subjects with enormous benefits also play an important role in driving students’ development for the better. In the classroom, when students are exposed to an array of disciplines, they will acquire the essential knowledge to apply in their future careers. Mathematics is a good example of a subject which provokes critical thinking and calculation ability. Students can learn elementary arithmetic such as fractions, statistics and probability to use in the commercial industry. Besides, liberal arts enable students to boost their creativity and imagination, which is useful to apply for such occupations as architecture or design. Overall, if not imparted knowledge from academic subjects, students are not equipped with necessary skills to prepare for their careers.

In conclusion, the idea that pupils should be tailored only to ethical behaviour or academic disciplines in school is preposterous. In my opinion, teachers should be in charge of educating the students to obtain sufficient knowledge in parallel with moral behaviour and judgment to build a just and civilized community.
