Some people think that shops should not be allowed to sell food or drinks that are scientifically proven to be bad for people's health. Do you agree or disagree?

The general belief is that stores should not be permitted to stock food or drinks which are obviously considered to be detrimental to people's well-being. Personally, I am against this idea owing to the subsequent reasons

One compelling justification for refuting the aforesaid position is the negative impacts on society and economy. This means the number of criminal activities would see a definite climb. Specifically, they will find banned products irresistable and purchase them illegally, as well as becoming the resource of the appearance of trade in illicit liquor and food. Another case in point is a surprising soar in unemployment. To explain, there is no demand for certain goods. Therefore, a lot of bieweries and food factories will be shut up, causing many people to lose their jobs.

Another explanation as to why this standpoint should be opposed is that there are also other effective methods of promoting healthy eating and drinking which are still not be adequately applied. In other words, they can tackle the problem with the modifications in products, such as restring the portion or bottle size and using warning labels in order to catch customer's attention and may alter their intentions of consuming harmful things. What is more, taxes of unhealthy food and beverages should be orientated to the adjustments. Moreover, vegetables and levy higher taxes on unhealthy items to help people abstain from it as well.

In conclusion, I am convinced that retail outlets are able to maintain the sales of harmful food and drinks that can damage people. However, they should work out my aforementioned solutions to deal with problems of harmful products's popularity for instead.
