In this day and age, more and more contemporary attention has been placed on the opinion that it is essential for parents to educate children how to be civilized citizens, but others believe that the school is the best place to learn social values. In my opinion, both the parents and the school have an indispensable role in shaping the character of their children.

Children have a tendency to imitate their parents's behavior, so parents assume a great responsibility for setting a good example for their kids due to the fact that parents' lifestyles and attitudes have a strong impact on the character of their youths. For instance, when children see that their parents are respectful to everyone, they will pick up on this and behave like their parents in tandem they will love everyone the way their parents loved them. On the contrary, should parents frequently argue with others, their children will mimic it and consider this bad action to resolve the disagreement. This may have a negative impact on the child's cognition in the future.

However, parents are not the only influence on children. It is clear that nowadays parents are not having sufficient time to spend with their children, so school is the right emplacement where children can get the proper guidance to become a good member of the community. At school, children and their peers are taught both academic knowledge and social skills in a scientific way. This can be demonstrated by a school's organization for students to participate in tree planting not only gives a good environment for them to practice communication skills mixed with real-life experiences, but also enhance their sense of contribution to society.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that to be valuable members of the community, children are in need of a close partnership between parents and the school in their development.
