Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society. Others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion?


It is undeniable that parents want their children to become a good citizen. Therefore, some people argue that parents should discripline their offspring, while others claim that it should be taken responsibilities by school. Before jumping into the conclusion, we need to examine the issue carefully.


On the one hand, parent is a important part of their children and they also set an example for their children to follow. It can be said that home is the first school where children learn the first lessons about life. One of the primary lessons which a child has to learn is about moral and social behaviour. Therefore, those lessons should be taught at home by those who children first saw and imitated their parents. Besides, Parents should choose appropriate teaching methods so that children do not get bored in learning from family and society.


On the other hand, school is also a place for children to practice and practise as well as study more valuable lessons from teachers and friends. The surrounding environment in school can offer students to experience and accept the necessary skills in life by activities such as playing sport, chatting or charity activities. Moreover, experienced teachers can help students could study more effectively via the interesting lessons they provide. This will build up the child to be useful member of the society.


In conclusion, helping children to become good members of society by parents or school are good methods. It is advisable to combine family and school in order to educate children in the best way.
