Some people are of the opinion that reading newspapers is the most effective method to receive news. However, others believe that scrolling through the media for information is a better alternative. In my perspective, I would rather attach more importance to online news.

To some extent, conventional newspapers are regarded as a useful tool to read the news. First of all, it goes without saying that reading news on paper could do no harm to human well-being. Unlike technological devices, newspapers are unable to emit blue light and radiation as well, which in turn prevents readers from having eyestrain or headaches. Furthermore, it goes without saying that traditional newspapers provide a more reliable source of information compared to other sources nowadays. This is because the information in newspapers is well-written and researched by journalists, and then thoroughly checked and censored before their publication.

On the other hand, the mass media is an increasingly dominant news source due to several reasons. To begin with, the constant advancement in technology has brought readers a greater reading experience. For example, an online article is often decorated with a variety of eye-catching patterns or images, and intriguing videos are attached to the article as well. This has been very successful in attracting readers’ attention and keeping them entertained during the reading process. Another advantage of the media is that it is more environmentally friendly. Access to huge storage of information via the media costs no paper, and therefore, no trees are cut down. This benefit has never been more meaningful than today when the environment is being desperately destroyed by humans.

In conclusion, newspapers and the media are both effective ways to learn news. Nevertheless, I still prefer to obtain up-to-date news through the mass media.
