Essay & Composition Writing

Some people think that news has no connection with people’s lives; so it is a waste of time to read newspapers and watch television news programmes. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Please help me review the essay below!

Today, absorbing news is occasionally deemed a wasteful practice due to its irrelevance to people’s daily activities. This viewpoint, in fact, could not be further from the truth.

On the one hand, there are reasonable justifications for the fact that people are progressively unwilling to digest newspapers and keep up with news broadcasts. Generally, pieces of information included in news cannot be always intended to form a close association with readers or viewers throughout the world. To exemplify, entrepreneurs appear to take more notice of news surrounding business and finance than that concerning politics which is essentially aimed at politicians or legislators. People following news media in search of relevant details, as a result, cannot invariably satisfy their demands.

On the other hand, should one maintain the habit of consuming news on a very regular basis, it will definitely turn out to be exceedingly advantageous. The primary benefit people can acquire is that news consumption assists in followers’ broadening their horizon. People can apparently familiarize themselves with a wealth of novel advancements and dramatic fluctuations on a local, national and international scale. Take the current Coronavirus into consideration in order to be more specific. Thanks to the daily updates of the most recent circumstances, citizens around the world can incessantly stay informed of the lethal contagion, therefore doing elaborate preparations for the potential dangers. On the same par with this, news as informative articles provides readers with a variety of affairs to exchange views on. Thence, interpersonal relationships are tremendously reinforced.

In essence, absorbing news, via either newspapers or television programmes, is evidently indispensable in our ever-changing world notwithstanding some of its unexpected irrelevance. Accordingly, I do highly recommend that news consumers be profoundly selective so that pieces of news will be beneficial to the fullest.
