Some people think that instead of preventing climate change, we need to find a way to live with it. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In recent decades, a heated debate has arisen concerning whether or not we need to live with the consequences of climate change as opposed to preventing it from getting worse. From my point of view, I completely disagree with the idea of accepting climate change due to its consequences affecting human's lives and the protection of people's living standard.

First and foremost, unless people deal with climate change, the negative impacts of this phenomenon would undoubtedly be disastrous, which can put people’s lives on the line. It is significant that climate change has led to the sharp increase in the sea level and various extreme weather conditions such as tsunami, floods, earthquakes,etc. These disasters made a lot of people lose their homes, their families and their jobs, and they would be forced to migrate to nearby cities or perhaps to other countries. As per the record of WHO, about 11,000 natural disasters were recorded between 1970 and 2019, causing $3.6 trillion in losses and claiming the lives of about 2 million people across the world.

Moreover, by protecting people from climate change, people would live with the happiness of high-quality living standards. Climate change has gradually detrimental effects on the air quality, which has made the environment polluted in residential areas. For example, breathing the poor air quality has led some people to health problems related to their lungs. Accordingly, if people made an effort to prevent this phenomenon, the atmosphere they breathe on a daily basis would be fresher and more comfortable.

In conclusion, it seems to me that living with climate change is unreasonable and we must address the problem of climate change to protect people's lives and improve the living demands. Indeed, the governments should have some policies to encourage the public to prevent the devastation of climate change.
