Over time, international sport event becomes highly anticipated by people around the world, hence each and every country competes to arrange the event in the best way possible. Many believe that it is beneficial for a country to host the international sport events, while others believe it is detrimental for the country. This essay will discuss both of these points of view and argue in favour of the latter.

On the one hand, hosting an international event gives the opportunity for the country to introduce their culture, heritage and customs as well as their national resources which may attract investor from other countries. Additionally, it can also provide a new job opportunity for the citizen, not to mention a profit that the country's could get. Thailand, for example, reaped a surplus around 21 million US Dollar after the XIII Asian Games which held in Bangkok.

On the other hand, becoming a host of an international sport event requires a lot of money. Moreover, the country also obligate to provide an international sport facilities which will lead to constructing and renovating the cities. If the country fails to organize the event then it will bring a lot of disadvantage to the country.

In my opinion, hosting an international sport event is good for a country as there are more benefits than drawbacks. Hosting an international sport event may give personal pride to the country, also it allows the country to have a prestigious history. Not only it is profitable for the country but it can also promote tourism.

To conclude, becoming a host for international sport events is important and good for a country. Although there are some consequences to consider, the benefits and advantages surpass it.
