Essay & Composition Writing

Some people think that government should ban dangerous sports, while others think people should have freedom to do any sports or activity. discuss both views and give your own opinion

It is a common belief that unsafe sports should be prohibited. However, there is a more persuasive argument that people have right to play whatever sports they want. This essay will discuss both views and give a concluding view in the below paragraphs.

On the one hand, those people’s view who believe that extreme sports should be banned. Firstly, these sports are very dangerous, players may get injured or even be killed. When playing these sports, for example, bungee jumping, there are many accidents that can be caused like broken ropes, damaged mental health, or head problems such as dizziness. In addition, these sports represent violence and also encourage aggressive thoughts and behaviors of viewers, especially children. For example, extreme sports like boxing or sports that involve animals award winners who have done many dangerous, crazy things. As a result, wrong messages are given to everyone.

On the other hand, strongly believe that people should be free when choosing sports they want to play. From a thrill-seeker point of view, skydiving or bungee-jumping and other dangerous sports are a way for players to express themselves. These people find danger heart-throbbing and exciting. Putting life on the line made extreme sports players feel surreal and it also work as an escape from the normal, boring, repetitive life. Not only extreme sports are hobbies, but they have also developed into a major market, offering so many job opportunities. For instance, local people in the mountainous area can gain a lot of money from bungee-jumping or glass bridges, once visitors are attracted by these activities, there will be more and more tourists coming here.

In conclusion, though dangerous sports indeed come with many risks, I think it is unnecessary for governments to ban them. Instead, the authority should create tighter guidelines for business providers and players to prevent pitiful accidents.
