Some people, such as myself/me/I, prefer a book to a movie.

Hello, everyone.

Which of the sentences below is correct?

1) Some people, such as I, prefer a book to a movie.
2) Some people, such as me, prefer a book to a movie.
3) Some people, such as myself, prefer a book to a movie.

Recently I have delved into reflexive pronouns and the usage above looks suspicious to me, but still I often see it.

Thanks teechr Emotion: smile Could you please elaborate a little bit more? Especially about 1)?

#1 is definitely incorrect and unnatural. #2 is okay, and #3 is acceptable.

OK, then let me go into detail a little bit more to better understand the situation, and quote one rule:

"Use the pronoun I, along with other subjective pronouns such as we, he, she, you, and they, when the pronoun is the subject of a verb."

Is "I" in the sentence under discussion not a subject or the above rule is not so precise and strict and have exceptions?
