Some people say that it is more important for students to learn local history than world history. Do you agree or disagree?

A number of people think that it is more necessary for schools to teach pupils local history than world history. Personally, I disagree with this statement due to the fact that these sections need to be learned equally.

It is crucial that students learn national history. Studying history of the nation is a way to express gratitude to the heroes and nurture patriotism. In local history, learners are taught about their nation’s milestones like the fights against intruders, nationwide developments, and changes. Children can profoundly see how hard it was to maintain freedom and how many people sacrificed to protect the safety. Moreover, not only the students learn historical things but they also gain lessons for everyday use. For example, stories of the old heroes, who devoted their whole life for the country, teach us to be willing to dedicate to justice and lead us to a judicious life ideal and personalities.

In addition to learning national history, world history does not play a less important role. This part is about the worldwide development from when humans were just like gibbons until when technology was invented. The lessons include the world wars, the industrial revolutions and inventions. Pupils can enrich their knowledge about the world events and cultures, which helps them to have essential knowing and manners while going aboard. For instance, we must not mention A. Hitler as a joke by imitating him in Germany because it is a symbol of racism.

In conclusion, it is my firm belief that students ought to learn both nation and world history because they are equally important.
