Some people say History is one of the most important school subjects. Other people think that, in today’s world, subjects like Science and Technology are more important than History. Discuss both this views and give your own opinion.

History is considered to be the most fundamental subjects for students at school by some people, whilst, the other agreed that Science and History plays a more important role since they are more relevant to the contemporary world. This essay attempts to go through both opinions and give the writer’s perspective at the end.

On the one hand, there are many appropriate reasons to confirm the importance of History. The purpose of learning History is to help people remember what their ancestors did in the past as well as avoid mistakes which had been done in the previous centuries. Following this, History will chronologically inform us of the past events, and generate enormous interest of students in discovering the past. Moreover, regarding students whose intention is to be a historian in the future, studying History at school can be an initial inspiration.

On the other hand, recent modernization has proved that Science and Technology are necessary in every parts of life. It is an indisputable fact that there are an increasing number of jobs which highly demands skills and qualifications in Science and Technology, which can be motivation for students to study the subjects. Moreover, the scientific professions not only provide acceptable salaries, but are also well- known for its job security. For example, being a doctor can supply lasting income, in addition, there are less chances of downsizing. As a result, it goes without saying that Science and Technology is likely to be more requisite than other subjects at school.

In my opinion, it is not the best and always solution to declare which of the two subjects to be more important as it depends on the interests of students….
