Please help me review this essay, thank you so much!

According to some, the household waste is not recycled adequately. To a certain extent, I agree that one possible way to promote recycling is to make it a legal obligation. Nevertheless, I believe there are other equally vital measures to deal with that problem.

Admittedly, if governments consider recycling as a requirement for their people, the possibilities for individuals to recycle expand significantly and there will be less wastage. In many countries, especially in underdeveloped and developing countries, the issue of waste from homes is somewhat serious. This is because governments and inhabitants concentrate more on the economy and neglect its environmental side effects. People tend to throw away unused products without dividing them into categories to recycle later. In case it is illegal to do so, many will be afraid of being fined or committing crime. Therefore, they will adhere to the rule of recycling.

On the other hand, I believe that other considerations are just as important as laws in encouraging people to recycle more. Firstly, governments can add relevant curriculum in schools to educate youngsters about the importance of recycling. Furthermore, they can also organize some campaigns in each city or province for instructing local residents about how to recycle and warning them about the downside that the uncontrolled disposal of waste can bring about. They can even broadcast those campaigns on TV to raise greater public awareness about recycling and putting waste into the proper recycling bins. When I was younger, a TV program which showed the detrimental effects of household rubbish to the biosphere suppressed me from discarding recyclable things.

In conclusion, while laws certainly affect people’s choice of recycling, I do not believe that THEY ARE the only way to motivate people to recycle as other solutions are equally useful.
