Some people believe that the care of elderly people should be priority of government spending. Others believe that government spending should focus more on young people, especially on their education. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

It is debatable whether the government budget should spend on social welfare for elderly generation or the youth and their education that should be prioritised. While the opinion that state should invest in education of young people is strongly side with to some extent, I do more good than harm.

There are several reasons for spending a significant amount of the government budget on aged people. Firstly, old people are physically weak and are financially incapacitied, due to which they are often ignored and abandoned by their children. Morever, they are considered as a financial burden on the society because they are not able to earn. By providing a monthly pension to senior citizen, the government can support their empowerment and emancipation . Secondly, there are the people who spent their lives helping built their country and its economy to make it a better place for those who come after them. Without the hard work of those citizens, the country would not be where it is today, and therefore they should taken care of to a certain extent, including free healthcare and discounted medicine.

On the other hand, young people, especially teenagers and children are supposed to be the next generation workforce of a country. Therefore, the governmet must invest in their health and education to make sure the country countinues develop and prosper in the future with an intelligent and healthy population. In addition, by investing ,more on education, the number of people neither read nor write would decrease, result in the reduction of illiteracy rate. Particularly, dwellers could easier to find a job in order to ensure their living standard without government assistance.

In conclusion, the idea of giving younger and older people is worthwhile for a few reasons, namely helping elderly people who contributed to society and motivating younger people to countinue grow their country. I believe that governments need to focus equally on the younger and older generation.
