Nowadays, beside studying at school, teenagers also do volunteer work which benefits themselves and the community. However, from my perspective, I completely disagree with and believe that teenagers will get more harm than good when they do community work freely, and even the society won’t get any merits from these activities.
First and foremost, teenagers are of school-age. Being under pressure from graduation examinations, teenagers need to squander most of their time on doing exercises and exam revisions. Moreover, they also attend some extra classes in order to review and broaden their horizons. They are too busy to join in any volunteer work despite its usefulness. Secondly, teenagers don’t have enough ability to do community work. They haven’t been ever trained and haven’t had any dragmatic skills or experiences before. Therefore, it’s easy for them to get physical and mental injuries. Last but not least, doing volunteer work also distracts teenagers from their studying. Some teenagers are interested in community work because they have a chance to socialize with many kinds of people. They spend their time taking part in these activities instead of studying. As soon as, their study’s result will get low marks and they will lose the opportunities of graduation.
In terms of society, it’s quite unfair if they obligate teenagers to do community work. As now whoever is living in civilizational society, has a right to do whatever they want. It's evident that people go against the values of a free and fair society and that may give rise to the resentment of teenagers if they force teenagers to do volunteer work.
To sum up, forcing teenagers to do unpaid community work as if they increase the issue of teenager exploitation that needs to be under high restriction of the government. Therefore, it's of great necessity for teenagers to be given a right to do their favorite things instead of obeying community’s require.
