There has been a difference of opinion as to how to make productive employment choices. While I accept that the high frequency of changing occupations might be favorable to some extent, I espouse the notion that staying at a job on a permanent basis would assist people in obtaining a gratifying career.
On the one hand, I admit that there are some benefits arising from frequently changing workplaces. The first advantage is the diverse working experience. The fact is that when individuals repeatedly jump from one job to another, they are likely to derive a greater range of precious real-world knowledge and experiences from various working environments. As a result, they might secure a more comprehensive and holistic outlook than others. Another benefit is higher chances of finding suitable career pathways. As the matter of the fact, if people stick themselves to a job for a long time, they are unlikely to stand a chance of recognizing which career is appropriate for them. Consequently, they might not develop fully their potential.
On the other hand, I believe that people who keep working at a company for years are at better chances of securing a satisfying career life. The first factor that should be taken into account is the close-knit relationship with co-workers. It is true that the longer time people work together, the closer they are. Therefore, a person who works for a long time at a business may find psychological and materialistic support from his or her peers. The second factor is the heightened prospects of promotion. Indeed, employers tend to prioritize those who devote their life and make enormous contributions to firms than others when it comes to the appointment of firms’ high-level positions. Hence, loyal and devoted employees are set to climb the career ladder at a faster pace.
In conclusion, while constantly changing professions may generate some merits, I am of the opinion that being loyal to one business would play a key role in achieving pleasurable career life.
