Grammar

Some or certain

a. Certain people will leave.
b. Some people will leave.
Does (a) necessarily mean that I know who will leave?

c. I don't know if some of them will be there.
d. I don't know if certain of them will be there.

Does (c) could be used if as far as I know none of them will be there?

Does (d) mean I know which ones might not be there?

Can I use (d) if I know that some of them will be there? I just don't know if certain of the others will be there or not.

Would this make sense?
I don't know if certain of them will be there but I know Jane, Caroline and Emily will be there.

Many Thanks.
Azz.
