Some or Any

Do you have some sugar or do you have any sugar? Which one is correct? Please help. Thanks.

You may use either. In the U.S. we most often use some for the affirmative statement and any for the negative or interrogative sentences.

Normally we use any in the interrogative, but we can use some when we expect the answer to be in the affirmative.

One aspect that I didn't mention earlier. In an offer, "Would you like some sugar?" sounds fine to me.
