Some or all essential techniques/elements?

Hi. If the following were a goal statement for an instructor's (or a teacher's) lessons, for whatever duration, would the underlined part indicate "all" the essential techniques or "some" of the essential techniques? If it would indicate "some" of the them, would it better to include the word "some" before the word "essential"?

How about this? The same questions apply. Does the underlined part indicate "some" or "all" of the elements and would it be better to include "some" if indicates "some"? Thank you for your help in advance.

No one would expect all techniques, essential elements, etc., to be taught; it is unrealistic. You must consider common sense when interpreting statements in any language. 'Some' is unnecessary.
