Is it correct to say 'some of this are' as in the following sentence...

"He has lots of books, some of which are worth a lot of money"

"He has lots of books, some of which are worth a lot of money"

Is it correct to say 'some of this are' No. But you could say

"He has lots of books, and some of them are worth a lot of money"

or

"He has lots of books, and some of these are worth a lot of money".
