Some of the sentences are British usage, while others are American usage. Am i right?

She insists that he goes with him.

She insisted that he go with him.

I believe all the sentences are correct. I also think that some of the sentences are British usage, while others are American usage. Am i right?

Thanks.

tamguatlay I believe all the sentences are correct. All are certainly in common use. But note that #4 usually reflects a different meaning of 'insist' (= confirm) (a past event).

Mister MicawberI think there are preferences or trends. Judging from fivejedjohn's earlier remarks, AmE is more strict, making #3 and #4 more American.
Thanks, MM.

Could you tell you how to find fivejedjohn's earlier remarks?
