Some odd names

Hello all,

I heard some persons say "My Gash" instead of "My God". What does that mean please?

And also I'm very wonder how somebody can have a name like "di?k", for example, di?k cheney. Isn't it shameful?

OK, so they are common and have their meanings from beginning. Still it's odd, how from beginning people named their sons "dic."?

They named them "Richard". The nickname for Richard is D*i*c*k. This man's name came first. Then it was borrowed as a way of naming something else.
