Some more questions on comma uses

Hi. Could you help me with these? How would you punctuated the following sentences? Did I place commas correctly?

1. It made me wonder because, since he had a lot of money, it would have been relatively easy for him to spare seventy-five cents.

2. It made me wonder because, despite what the teacher said, she usually came home by six.

3. It made me sad to hear that he would come no more because, for the previous three days, he had visited me daily.

4. I thought (that) since he had a lot of money, it would have been relatively easy for him to spare seventy-five cents.

5. So since he had a lot of money, I think it would have been relatively easy for him to spare some change.

The commas are dutifully placed (except that you need one after 'So' in #5), but in fact all the sentences should be re-cast to avoid as many of those commas as possible.
