Which one is correct?

(a) My mother put some / - butter on her bread. ( both correct?)

(b) Some / The teachers are eating at the canteen. (both correct?)

(c) Can I have any / a little water? (a little)

(d) There was so many / much noise that we couldn't hear the song. (much)

But, It's quite weird to say,

(c) Can I have any water? (isn't?)

That will depend on the context. Maybe there is not much water to spare.

Don't forget there's a lot of difference between:

a) My mother drinks a little wine in the evening.

and

b) My mother drinks little wine in the evening.

Sentence a) suggests the image of a woman relaxing, habitually, with maybe a small glass of wine every evening.

Sentence b) conjures up the image of a woman who seldom drinks wine in the evening.
