Some grammar.

Would it be correct to write 8-mm-thick plate, 6-mm-diameter bundle, and fibers (of?) 5 mm in diameter? (To hyphenate and the last phrase without "of" ). Thanks!

Hi, In my experience, most modern English writers try to avoid using a lot of hyphens. I usually see eg an 8mm-thick plate eg a plate 8mm thick eg a bundle 8mm in diameter eg fibers 5mm in diameter 'Some people leave a space before mm, some don't. Clive
